Hamilton Writers Guild 2009 4th Annual Fiction Writing Contest Guidelines
- Category: General Fiction, limited to 2000 word
- Deadline: Postmarked no later than September 30, 2009
- Entry fee: $10 per entry
- Prizes: $125 1st Prize; $75 2nd Prize; $50 3rd Prize
- Manuscript must be typed, (preferably Times Roman typeface,) double-spaced on one side of standard sized 8.5 x 11 white paper. Do not double space between paragraphs
- Each page should have page number and title in the upper right hand corner
- Staple all entries in upper left corner
- Include a cover page with name, address, phone number, e-mail address, word count, and how you learned about the contest (follow example pdf format or simple text on our website.) Type or print information
- Do not put your name, or any other form of identification, on the manuscript
- Entries exceeding word count or not following the guidelines will be disqualified
- Entries will not be returned without a SASE and sufficient postage
- Unlimited number of entries allowed; entry fee must accompany each entry
- No e-mail entries
- Entries exceeding word count or not following the guidelines will be disqualified
- Current members of the Hamilton Writers Guild are ineligible to enter
- Previous winning or honorable mention stories may not be resubmitted
- Winners will be announced on November 20, 2009 on our web site
- Individual winners will be notified by mail. Include a SASE if you want a complete list of winners
